What the KOMY Phone really costs.
You buy the phone once. The KOMY service – Komy’s voice, the parents’ app, updates and the data plan – costs little per month and can be cancelled at any time. All figures are here, including the totals.
Good to know: Komy speaks German. Voice, stories, encyclopedia, learning games and the parents’ app are in German; contract language and legal texts are German as well.

First year = the phone once plus twelve months of the KOMY service (€60 a year or 12 × €5.99 with data SIM, €49 or 12 × €4.99 with your own SIM). From the second year on you only pay for the service – the same with every device.
All prices include 19% VAT; shipping to Germany and Austria is included. The service starts on the day of dispatch; today only the phone is paid for.
Not a throw-away device
The phone belongs to you, not to us. When your child outgrows the KOMY Phone, you release it in the parents’ app (“Gerät freigeben”, confirmed by typing the word FREIGEBEN). After that the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G is a perfectly normal Android smartphone: all apps, normal home screen, no locks. So you do not buy a second phone for the next school. Samsung promises six Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the Galaxy A17 5G; for the Blackview Wave 7C the manufacturer states at least six years of software updates in EPREL. So far we only promise the release to a normal Android phone for the Galaxy A17 5G; it has not yet been tested on the Blackview Wave 7C.
On release, what your child did with Komy is deleted from the phone; the encrypted backup on your parent phone stays. You cancel the KOMY service separately via the cancellation button. The step cannot be undone on the phone. The release is part of every KOMY Phone we deliver.
No contract, no minimum term
- Cancellable monthly. The service ends at the end of the current billing month; with yearly payment, monthly after the first year. You cancel via the cancellation button, no call, no letter.
- The phone stays yours. Even without the service, Komy’s voice, the stories, the learning games and the morning routine keep running, because they work offline. Data SIM, parents’ messages, safe places and updates end.
- 14-day right of withdrawal. Within 14 days of receipt you can withdraw from the order without giving reasons; the phone goes back, you get the purchase price refunded. Right of withdrawal (German).
- Delivery to Germany and Austria, included in the price. Payment is handled securely via Stripe by PayPal, card, SEPA direct debit or – depending on the device – Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Parents’ app: Android today, iPhone planned
The parents’ app is currently available for Android; all features are there. With an iPhone you set up the KOMY Phone directly on the device, in parent mode behind your Komy code – that works today. A parents’ page in the browser for location, messages and chores is planned, but work on it has not started yet. Until then, location, messages, chores and the SOS alert only arrive on an Android phone or tablet, and the device can only be released with the parents’ app. A dedicated iPhone app is planned, with no date yet. Please take this into account before buying.
Family rate: how the proof works
The family rate – the KOMY Phone with the Blackview Wave 7C for €149 – is for families receiving Kinderzuschlag, Wohngeld or Bürgergeld. As proof, a photo or scan of the first page of the current notice by e-mail to me@sysea.de is enough; you may black out amounts. We only check that the notice is in your name and current, send you the voucher code and delete the proof afterwards.

- Device: depending on the order, Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, model SM-A176B/DS (“Samsung Galaxy A17 5G mit KOMY”), or Blackview Wave 7C, model WAVE 7C (“Blackview Wave 7C mit KOMY”), set up by Sysea as the KOMY Phone.
- Manufacturer of the Blackview Wave 7C: Shenzhen DOKE Electronic Co., Ltd, 801, Building 3, 7th Industrial Zone, Yulv Community, Yutang Road, Guangming District, Shenzhen, China, www.blackview.hk. Safety and usage instructions come with the device.

- Provider of the KOMY Phone (setup, software, service): Sysea, owner Markus Ealy, Auf dem Hofdriesch 11, 35321 Laubach, Germany, me@sysea.de.
- Updates: Samsung promises six Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the Galaxy A17 5G; for the Blackview Wave 7C, Blackview states at least six years of software updates in EPREL. You receive updates of the KOMY software for as long as the KOMY service runs.
- Warranty: the statutory two-year warranty (Gewährleistung) by Sysea applies. The manufacturer guarantee of Samsung or Blackview (12 months according to EPREL) exists alongside it.
- Disposal: old devices and batteries do not belong in household waste – disposal notes (German).
What the service pays for
The monthly fee carries the data SIM, the KOMY server, which voices a word when Komy does not know a first name or a school subject yet, the updates for both apps, and the safe places, the parents’ messages and SOS between your phones. At launch the phone itself is sold below our cost; the first hundred devices are carried by the service.
